Our Business

Southern Hydro Vac is the leading (soft dig) hydro excavation company in Georgia.  We are based in Powder Springs, Georgia and work primarily in Atlanta and the Southeast.  We are a service orientated company, performing hydro excavation for a large network of companies and contractors. Southern Hydro Vac, Inc. is fully insured and Safety is a major consideration in the performance of our work.

Our Diligence

Originally started in October of 2003, with two trucks, we have grown over the years to a fleet of 12 trucks, support equipment and a trained staff.  Southern Hydro Vac owns, operates and maintains the newest and finest hydro vac trucks and equipment.  We have an internal service department and staff of three service men.  Our shop facility has four open bays and is equipped to perform all minor and major repairs.  We keep a full inventory of tires, parts, filters, etc.  So if our trucks or vac systems need attention, there is no waiting for 3rd party repairs.  Daily equipment inspections guarantees prompt repairs so the trucks will be available for work.

Our Dedication

Southern Hydro Vac's management personnel are all customer orientated, so as to provide our clients with the best possible service in this industry.   The management consists of a General Manager, Sales Representative, Dispatch Manager and two supporting clerical personnel.  Our goal is to serve and satisfy our customers by improving the cost effectiveness and quality of our services, by building a team of people who will develop and maintain a quality and service oriented attitude that leads the industry and creates a sustainable competitive advantage for Southern Hydro Vac, Inc.

Our Approach

Our Reputation

The capabilities of our trucks and the quality of our employees are responsible for our excellent reputation.  We are one of the few hydro excavation companies that are approved to work at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, as well as the Georgia Power and The Southern Companies’ power plants.  Southern Hydro Vac is very proud of our “can do” reputation and our people who are responsible for perpetuating that reputation.

Jan Enlow

Service Coordinator

I was born in Kentucky, lived in Chicago for a short time before moving to Georgia in 1990. I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and working on home improvement projects.

I've worked in the construction industry for nearly 20 years. I began working for a grading and pipeline contractor in, GA. I enjoyed running all types of heavy equipment and was able to advance quickly within the company. after 13 years, I left there as a Grading Foreman to pursue a career with Southern Hydro Vac Inc. in 2011. I started at the company learning Hydro Vac operations and soon was presented with the opportunity to head up back-filling operations. In the summer of 2017, I took over the Service Coordinator position for Southern Hydro Vac.

I have been employed with Southern Hydro Vac since September of 2019. Prior to joining the Southern Hydro Vac team, I spent 5 years in the residential construction industry doing jobs such as laborer, project manager, and estimator. I enjoy the customer interaction, relationships, hard work, and problem solving that comes with my role.

I was born and raised in Georgia and taught growing up that if you want something in life you have to work for it. That’s exactly what I started doing straight out of high school as a heavy equipment mechanic. In 2003 I was introduced to hydro excavation when Southern Hydro Vac was launched. I guess you can say these trucks kind of sucked me into the business.

In 2008 I became Southern Hydro Vac’s full time mechanic. Setting up shop for the company was exciting and fun for me. My goal is to keep the right parts in stock in order to have as little equipment down time as possible. Now at Southern Hydro Vac we perform 100% of the vacuum loader repairs, while subbing out very few cab and chassis repairs. We employ 3 full time mechanics to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our 9 Hydro Vac trucks and 1 Flush Combo truck.

I enjoy working at Southern Hydro Vac. It has become my dream job. If I’m not putting in time at SHVI you would catch me enjoying God’s country either on the lake or in the woods with my family and friends.

AR Assistant

I have been employed with Southern Hydro Vac since July 2019 and have brought with me over 20 years’ experience in management, accounting, scheduling, and customer service from a variety of different industries. Although new to the company, I am excited to use my experience in construction and transportation to help keep Southern Hydro Vac running smoothly on a daily basis.

I currently live in Villa Rica, GA with my husband Hollis. All three of our children- Taylor, Chantz, and Grace- are currently in college, which keeps us pretty busy. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with our children and friends. We are very blessed to have a huge circle of friends that keep us entertained and busy throughout the year- attending cook outs and events.
